Throughout October, quilt designers around the world created quilt blocks on the theme of Fall.
I’ve created an autumnal vision of the forest floor with ferns and fungi you’ll see in any woodland at the time of year (in the northern hemisphere at least!)
Use traditional needle-turn appliqué techniques to hand stitch the block, or go for a fast and fusible method (instructions included).
I also created a machine embroidery version: the mushroom appliqué fits an 8″ hoop, and I added a 2″ pieced border to bring the finished block up to 12″
