Society of Stitchers — a paid membership community operated by Flowerdog & Co

Last updated: September 2026

1. Introduction and acceptance

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Society of Stitchers membership (“Membership”, “Community”), operated by Flowerdog & Co (“we”, “us”, “our”), a sole trader  based in the United Kingdom. By purchasing a Membership, creating an account, or accessing the Community, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a Membership. The Community is intended for hobbyist machine embroiderers and quilters and is not directed at children.

3. Membership plans and billing

Society of Stitchers is offered on a recurring subscription basis, currently available as:

Monthly, Quarterly and Annual options, priced at the rates shown at checkout

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period using the payment method on file, until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store full card details ourselves.

We reserve the right to change Membership pricing for future billing periods, with reasonable advance notice given to existing members before any change takes effect.

4. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your Membership at any time via your account dashboard or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewal payments; access continues until the end of the current paid period . Refunds are not offered for partial billing periods, except as required by law.

5. Discount codes and promotions

From time to time we may offer discount or coupon codes. Promotional pricing is offered at our discretion, may be withdrawn or amended, and abuse of promotional codes (e.g. creating multiple accounts to claim a one-per-customer offer) may result in the discount being revoked and the standard price applied.

6. What Membership includes

Membership currently includes access to a private online community, member-only patterns and tutorials, and occasional bonus content. The specific content and features included may evolve over time; we will give reasonable notice of any material reduction in benefits.

7. Monthly challenge and prize draws

From time to time, we may run a monthly challenge as part of the Membership. Where a challenge is held, it will be announced via the Community, and winners are selected using a random draw method, with prizes awarded at our discretion in accordance with the rules published for that challenge.

Running a monthly challenge is offered on a discretionary basis and is not a guaranteed feature of the Membership. We may pause, skip, or discontinue the monthly challenge at any time without this constituting a reduction in Membership benefits requiring notice under Section 6.

8. Licence to use patterns and content

All patterns, tutorials, designs, and other digital content made available through the Membership are licensed to you for personal use only. You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or share the Designs themselves — as digital files, printed patterns, or any other form that would let another person reproduce them — outside the Community, whether for free or for payment.

You may personally make and sell a small quantity of finished physical items made using the Designs (for example, on a handmade/hobbyist basis such as at craft fairs or a small online shop). You may not use the Designs for large-scale, mass, or commercial factory production, and you may not authorise or supply the Designs to a third party (including manufacturers or other crafters) for production on your behalf at scale.

9. Community conduct

Members agree to behave respectfully within the Community, and not to:

  • harass, bully, or demean other members or the business owner;
  • share member-only content outside the Community;
  • post content that is unlawful, infringing, or objectionable;
  • use the Community for unrelated commercial promotion or spam.

We reserve the right to remove content or suspend or terminate a Membership for breach of these Terms, at our reasonable discretion.

10. Member-submitted content

If you post photos, comments, or other content within the Community (including finished-project photos), you retain ownership of it, but grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it within the Community and, where reasonably attributed, to use it in our marketing (e.g. social media, the website, newsletters).

If you would prefer we do not use your content in marketing outside the Community, you can opt out at any time by emailing us at support(at)flowerdogandco(dot)com to let us know. We will stop using your content in future marketing from that point, and will make reasonable efforts to remove or update any existing marketing material already in circulation where practical to do so.

11. Intellectual property

All designs, patterns, branding, and other materials we create remain our intellectual property, or that of our licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of that intellectual property to you.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Community and its content are provided “as is”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Membership, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13. Use of Designs with your own equipment.

Designs are provided in the file formats and specifications stated at the time of purchase or as part of your Membership. It is your responsibility to ensure the Designs are compatible with, and to use them in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions for, your own embroidery machine, computer, and other equipment.

We are not responsible for any damage to your embroidery machine, computer, or other equipment arising from your use of the Designs, except where such damage is caused by our negligence or where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.

14. Service availability and technical disruption

The Community and Membership content are delivered using third-party hosting and software infrastructure, including our web hosting provider and the software platforms that run our Community, commerce, and email systems. From time to time, this infrastructure may experience downtime, outages, or technical faults that are outside our reasonable control.

We will make reasonable efforts to restore access as quickly as practical, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or fault-free access to the Community, and we are not liable for losses arising from third-party service outages, except where required by law.

15. Force majeure and business continuity

Flowerdog & Co is operated by a single individual working alone, without employees. Neither party will be liable for any delay or failure to perform obligations under these Terms resulting from circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including illness, injury, bereavement, or other personal or family emergency affecting the business owner, as well as events such as natural disasters, power or internet failures, or third-party platform outages.

If the business owner is temporarily unable to fulfil some or all obligations under these Terms, we will make reasonable efforts to notify members via the Community or email, and to resume normal operation as soon as reasonably practical. Our response will be proportionate to the extent and length of the disruption — for example, a short delay to a single scheduled release is treated differently from an extended period in which the Community or Membership benefits are substantially unavailable — and in every case we aim to act fairly and in good faith towards members, including considering pausing charges or extending Membership where a disruption is significant or prolonged.

16. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your Membership for breach of these Terms. You may cancel at any time as described in Section 4.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to members in advance via email or Community announcement.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

16. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to support(at)flowerdogandco(dot)com.
