Throughout March, quilt designers around the world are creating quilt blocks on the theme of the weather.
In England, March is the month of sunshine and showers, so I took a traditional New York Beauty block and turned it into Sunny Delight.
As always, you have options
I created two versions this month.
In the hoop applique for your embroidery machine – two 6″ block designs to combine in lots of different ways. You’ll need 4 hoopings to make the block in the picture. The blocks are joined on your sewing machine.
Foundation paper pieced with an applique centre – but don’t be put off if you’re new to foundation piecing. It’s honestly much easier than you think. And once you’ve mastered that skill, a whole world of quilt patterns opens up to you.
Sunny Delight is the perfect scrap buster and has loads of potential for different arrangements.
What’s included?
You’ll get a PDF with full sized templates and links to tips and tutorials
You’ll also get 6×6″ machine embroidery files in the following formats: DST | PES | EXP | JEF | HUS | VIP | VP3 | XXX
The block measures 12″ finished, plus seam allowances.
Purchase the Sunny Delight block
Before you go, don’t forget to check out the gorgeous quilt blocks on offer from other designers this month.
